GEORGETOWN
Day 1
Arrive in Guyana and transfer to Georgetown. Meet and greet at International Airport and transfer to Cara Lodge. Overnight at Cara Lodge.

CITY TOUR
Day 2
After breakfast enjoy a Georgetown City Tour highlighting the unique architecture, markets, zoo and more. Afternoon free to relax. Overnight at Cara Lodge. B

GEORGETOWN / SURAMA / ROCK VIEW LODGE
Day 3
This morning you will transfer to the airport for a flight over the rainforest and savannah to Annai in the North Rupununi. Lunch at Rock View Lodge. Transfer by 4x4 to the Amerindian community of Surama. Take a walking tour of the village, meet the village counsellors, visit the school and the Amazon Project. The Amazon Project is designed to give employment to the women of the community by growing cassava and then manufacturing food items. Over night at Rock View Lodge. BLD

ROCK VIEW LODGE
Day 4
Today enjoy a walk along the foothills of the Pakaraima Mountains and visit nearby Amerindian villages. During the heat of the day relax in the refreshing waters of the Rupununi’s only pool. Overnight at Rock View Lodge. BLD

ROCK VIEW LODGE / IWOKRAMA CANOPY WALKWAY
Day 5
After breakfast depart Rock View Lodge by 4x4 for the Iwokrama Forest. This afternoon enjoy the forest from a different perspective on the new canopy walkway. The walkway winds through the treetops at 35M above the ground. Take another tree top walk after dark to experience the night sounds of the forest. Overnight at Atta Rainforest Camp. BLD

IWOKRAMA CANOPY WALKWAY / KARANAMBU RANCH
Day 6
Once again take to the treetops to experience the dawn chorus. Transfer along the trails to seek the elusive Jaguar. The Iwokrama forest is rapidly gaining an international reputation for its healthy jaguar populations that seem not to be troubled by the appearance of curious humans. No promises, but many have been lucky. After breakfast transfer by 4x4 across the savannah to Ginep Landing on the Rupununi River. Transfer by boat for trip to Karanambu Ranch. This is the home of Diane McTurk, widely known for her work in rehabilitating orphaned, giant river otters to the wild. Diane and her otters have appeared on National Geographic, Jeff Corwin Experience, Really Wild Show (BBC) and the Calgary’s "Zoo World". Karanambu has a long history of visiting naturalists and Diane’s father, Tiny McTurk, has welcomed David Attenborough and Gerald Durrell (Three Singles to Adventure). Today’s generation of Edward and Melanie McTurk are your hosts, leaving Diane more time developing the Karanambu Trust, work with her otters and her writings. Dinner with Diane, Edward and Melanie will include stories on the history of the family and the Rupununi Savannahs. Overnight at Karanambu Ranch. BLD

KARANAMBU RANCH
Day 7
Today join Diane as she tends to the resident orphaned otters. Explore the Rupununi River in search of wild Giant River Otters, Black Caiman and Arapaima. An evening visit to Crane Pond to see hundreds of Ibis, Anhinga, Heron and Egret roosting is a highlight. Overnight at Karanambu Ranch. BLD

KARANAMBU RANCH
Day 8
Morning visit to Simoni Pond for some of the best inland fishing (add US$15.00) in Guyana including Peacock Bass. Explore the flooded forest (seasonal) or savannah with Diane. BLD

KARANAMBU RANCH / SHANKLANDS RAINFOREST RESORT
Day 9
Morning free to explore the facilities at Karanambu. After lunch fly back to Georgetown and transfer by boat to the Essequibo to Shanklands Rain Forest Resort. Shanklands Rainforest Resort which is carved from the tropical rainforest on a majestic cliff overlooking the silver water of Guyana’s largest river, the Essequibo. White colonial style gingerbread cottages are set amidst twenty-five acres of rolling lawns with views of the Essequibo and Mazaruni Rivers and the gold mining town of Bartica. Afternoon free to enjoy activities at Shanklands. Overnight at Shanklands

SHANKLANDS / KAIETEUR & ORINDUIK FALLS / GEORGETOWN
Day 10
Early morning transfer to Baganara Island for a charter flight to Kaieteur and Orinduik Falls. Two hours on the ground, to explore one of the worlds most spectacular waterfalls. The flight then continues over the mountains and savannah to the Brazil border and Orinduik Falls. Return to Georgetown. Overnight at Cara Lodge. BL

GUYANA / TOBAGO
Day 11
Transfer to airport for flight to Trinidad and onward Coconut Palm Tobagoconnection to Tobago. Pick up at airport for the scenic drive to the fishing village of Charlottesville on the north-western tip of Tobago. Enjoy a scenic view of the east coast as we drive through tiny villages, past windswept beaches, and lush forest. Trip to Little Tobago and return for snorkeling. Overnight at Blue Waters Inn. B

SNORKELLING / BLUE WATERS INN
Day 13
Morning to swim or relax at Blue Waters Inn. After lunch take a trip to the rainforest. Overnight at Blue Waters Inn. B

A relaxing morning at Blue Waters Inn. Overnight at Blue Waters Inn. B

RETURN HOME
Day 15
All too soon, it is time to transfer back to the airport for your departing flight home. B
